Around 350 competitors from ten countries will take part in an international taekwondo tournament in Sofia, which will be held at the Asics Arena on Saturday. Representatives of Slovenia, Greece, Romania, Belgium, Hungary, Slovakia, Latvia, Serbia, Poland and Bulgaria will be participating, among them many world and European champions.

The programme on Saturday includes an official opening ceremony, which will start at 10 am with demonstrations by police officers of self-defence techniques and rescue dog skills.

Sofia Mayor Vasil Terziev, representatives of the Interior Ministry, the Youth and Sports Ministry, the National Sports Academy, the Academy of the Ministry of Interior are invited to the competitions this Saturday. The President of the All Europe Taekwon-Do Federation (AETF), Leonardo Oros Duek, and Vice President Virginia Dionisi will be attending.

The main objective of the project is to "empower" youth, especially taekwondo players aged 12-17, by encouraging their active participation in their communities. This initiative aims to build local relationships with law enforcement, promoting social integration and active citizenship among youth.
