Journalist Teodora Encheva has been appointed BTA's correspondent in Belgrade as of Monday, September 30.

By the end of the year BTA plans to open a national press club with a correspondent's bureau in the Serbian capital. Currently, Bulgaria's national news agency has national press clubs with correspondents in Ankara (Turkiye), Bucharest (Romania), Skopje (Republic of North Macedonia), as well as in the Bulgarian populated cities of Bosilegrad (Serbia), Odessa (Ukraine) and Taraclia (Moldova). The Agency also has a permanent correspondent in Brussels (Belgium), as well as freelance correspondents (stringers) in other places around the world.

Teodora Encheva is an expert on Balkan politics. In the period between 2001 and 2004 she reported for BTA and bTV from Belgrade. In a state of declared emergency, thanks to her work, the two media outlets were the first to report on the assassination of Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Dindic. Teodora Encheva exclusively reported the news of the arrest of Dindic's assassin, kept in deep secrecy by the Serbian authorities.

Teodora Encheva is the author of dozens of documentaries on political, historical and cultural topics aired on bTV.
