The Ukrainian city of Odesa and the southern part of the Odesa region have been hit by drones, local Telegram channels reported.
Loud explosions were heard in Odesa and Izmail. The air raid alert was issued at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday.
Regional governor Oleh Kiper advised the local people to take shelter until the air raid alert is lifted.
Local Telegram channels reported that drones had manoeuvred over the southern part of the region, including over Izmail, Reni, Bolhrad, Kiliia, Tarutino and Artsyz.
The Bulgarian community in the Odesa region numbers 150,000 people, according to the official population census in Ukraine in 2001. Between 50,000 and 60,000 Bulgarians live in the city of Odesa. The largest compact groups of Bulgarians in the region are concentrated in the districts of Bolhrad, Izmail and Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi.
