Digitalization opens new dimensions in economy, and Bulgaria and Oman can play a key role in digital connectivity and its security between Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, President Rumen Radev said at a meeting with the Foreign Minister of the Sultanate of Oman, Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al-Busaidi, here on Tuesday. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly, the President's press secretariat reported Wednesday.
Radev underscored the opportunity for Oman to invest in the development of Bulgaria's digital infrastructure.
During the meeting, Radev highlighted the huge potential for the development of bilateral cooperation in a number of promising areas, such as high technologies, the construction of large data centers and energy, to which the exchanged visits of the energy ministers of the two countries contribute significantly. The potential of the partnership in economy, culture and sports were also highlighted during the meeting.
The Bulgarian President thanked Oman for its support in the negotiations for the release of the Bulgarian captain and co-captain of the Galaxy Leader ship, taken hostage by the Houthis off the coast of Yemen in November 2023.
