Members of the Bulgarian Embassy's team in Japan will take part in a series of initiatives to be organized in Tokyo between September 27 and 29 on the occasion of European Day of Languages, the Bulgarian diplomatic mission in Japan wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
The events’ organizers will be the European Union National Institutes for Culture in Japan, in partnership with embassies and cultural institutions from 14 EU member states, including Bulgaria.
Over three days, the visitors will be able to wander around various locations in Tokyo's Hiroo district to take part in quizzes featuring questions about different European countries, their culture, traditions and languages.
On September 29, the visitors will have the opportunity to learn about the different European languages at special stands. The Bulgarian stand will host Mini Lectures in Bulgarian between 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. local time.
At the Council of Europe’s initiative, the European Day of Languages has been celebrated on September 26 every year since 2001, which was declared European Year of Languages. The aim of the celebration is to promote knowledge of European linguistic and cultural diversity.
