During the Interactive Dialogue, entitled "Towards a Common Digital Future: strengthening inclusive innovation and cooperation to bridge the digital divides", caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev said that governments, businesses, academia and civil society must work together so that digital technologies contribute fully to promote sustainable development, to ensure a secure digital space for all and to close the digital divide. Glavchev was quoted the Council of Ministers. The Interactive Dialogue is part of the Summit of the Future in New York, the main event during the UN General Assembly High-Level Week.

Prime Minister Glavchev pointed out that the EU's Connecting Europe Facility (CEF2) is an example of how joint efforts can improve critical digital infrastructure. In addition, the Bulgaria-Greece-Serbia 5G corridor initiative demonstrates how such partnerships can improve connectivity and bridge the digital divide. Glavchev also highlighted the Institute of Computer Sciences, Artificial Intelligence and Technologies (INSAIT) operating in Bulgaria at Sofia University, in cooperation with Swiss universities. This further underscores Bulgaria's commitment to technological innovation and attracting top talent in the field of artificial intelligence, the Prime Minister added.

The Bulgarian Prime Minister paid special attention to the topics of cyber security, digital literacy and personal data protection. "It is extremely important to protect all people, especially children, from threats in the online environment," Glavchev pointed out. He also stated that the expansion of digital infrastructure, especially in underdeveloped areas, is essential for equal access to the digital economy, including education, healthcare and economic opportunities.

The Summit of the Future aims to address the challenges and gaps in global governance and revitalize the multilateral system with the United Nations at its core. As a result, a Pact for the Future was adopted on Sunday, which will include as annexes the Declaration for Future Generations and the Global Digital Compact.
