The Bulgaria's national football team went up one spot in the FIFA monthly ranking and now occupies the 81st position in the world. FIFA published the ranking for September on Thursday.
Earlier this month, the team's match against Belarus ended in a 0-0 draw, and they beat Northern Ireland 1-0 in their first two Nations League games. This added another 7.18 points to Bulgaria's 1302.68. Bulgaria comes after the teams of El Salvador, Israel, Oman and Honduras in the ranking, and ahead of the national teams of Guinea, Bolivia, Gabon and Angola.
Among the rivals of the Bulgarian team in the League of Nations, Northern Ireland is first - in 73rd place with 1339.64 points. Next is Luxembourg in 87th place with 1261.95 points and Belarus in 97th position with 1229.07 points.
There are no changes at the top of the rankings compared to the ranking for the month of August. The leader is the world champion Argentina with 1889.02 points. In second place is France with 1851.92 points, and the top three is completed by the European champion Spain with 1836.42 points. England and Brazil are also in the top 5.
