Guillaume Canet heads the jury in the feature film competition of the tenth edition of the Cinelibri book-to-film festival, the festival team announced. The festival will be taking place  from October 10 to November 3 under the motto Endless Poetry.

Canet, who is one of the big stars of contemporary French cinema, will share the jurying task with writer Christine Leunens, actress Ann Cusack and writer Daniel Kehlmann. Traditionally, the international jury includes a prominent Bulgarian actor who has received recognition at home and abroad. This year that role goes to Maria Bakalova.

Aiming to showcase the latest cinematic masterpieces based on the vast world of literature, this one-of-a-kind film forum, which already has a devoted audience of all ages, will be held simultaneously in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo, Gabrovo and Stara Zagora.

"With the motto Endless Poetry, the festival pays tribute to the luminaries of poetic art, to whom we owe unforgettable thrills and flights of the spirit," say the organizers. Endless Poetry is also a reference to the film of the same name by Alejandro Jodorowsky, "a real movie wizard whose surreal revelations captivate or repulse, but never leave the viewer indifferent", to use the organizers' words.

Cinelibri is financially supported by the National Film Center, the municipalities of Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna, Burgas, Veliko Tarnovo and Gabrovo and partners with the Stara Zagora Regional Library. The project is part of the Cultural Calendar of Sofia Municipality for 2024.
