A hierarchical memorial divine liturgy was celebrated at the Saint Nedelya Cathedral in Sofia on Saturday for six months since the death of Patriarch Neophyte. The service was headed by Bulgarian Patriarch Daniil.

Praising his predecessor, Patriarch Daniil said that for 11 years, patriarch Neophyte has led the Bulgarian church peacefully and enabled the people of God to walk and defend His Kingdom in peace. "We will remember patriarch Neophyte for his proverbial meekness, but since his early years, being born into an extremely pious and believing family, he fell in love with God early and did not hide the talents the Lord had given him, but on the contrary, after his primary education he went to study at the Theological Seminary in a time when it was not prestigious, but difficult," Daniil said.

The liturgy was attended by Orthodox Christians, representatives of churches, and priests.
