In its resolution of September 3, circulated to the media, the National Council (NC) of the "Yes, Bulgaria!" party mandates the Executive Council with concluding an agreement for the joint participation in the upcoming early parliamentary elections of "Yes, Bulgaria!" in coalition with Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria. Among the objectives set out in the NC resolution is restoring confidence in the coalition of at least 100,000 of the voters lost in the last elections.
According to the resolution, the current formula of the democratic community's political representation in the centre-right needs a very serious reconsideration.
Due to the lack of conditions to complete the process of negotiating a new long-term political agreement now, a new mandate for negotiating such an agreement will be given after the elections, including on the basis of the results, the press release said.
By general agreement in the Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria that the current framework coalition agreement of February 2023 has been exhausted as a basis for seeking an extension of support for the coalition, negotiations for a new one have begun, the resolution said.
No agreement was reached on implementing new mechanisms for filling the candidate lists, including abandoning party quotas.
At the same time, as the election campaign starts, the very process of negotiating and discussing various solutions is becoming a source of media speculation and tensions that are to the detriment of the necessary mobilisation of voters.
