site.btaSofia Philharmonic Hosts Masters of Classic Festival in Bucharest
Between September 1 and 15 the Sofia Philharmonic will be the leading orchestra at the Masters of Classic Festival in Bucharest, the orchestra said.
The festival will feature world renowned artists such as Anna Netrebkoand Yusif Eyvazov, Elina Garanca, Rolando Villazón and Emily Pogorelc, Roberto Alagna, Piotr Beczała and Olga Kulchynska, Asmik Grigorian and Andrey Zhilikhovsky,, pianist Fazil Say and the virtuoso violinist and musical director of the Orchestre de Lyon - Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider. The conductor of the concerts is the Italian maestro Michelangelo Mazza.
"The invitation to the Sofia Philharmonic came after many successful opera concerts of world-famous singers in Sofia. The recognition from the artists for the high quality of the orchestra and from the management for the excellent organization of the concerts tipped the scales in favor of our national orchestra," said the Philharmonic.
The Sofia Philharmonic will open the season on September 19 with a concert of Gautier Capuçon and Augustin Hadelich, conducted by Nayden Todorov.
