site.btaHealthcare Forum in Sveti Vlas Discusses Treating Children with Chronic Lung Diseases
Health symposium under the slogan "We are what we breathe" is taking place here on Saturday and Sunday. The forum, organized by the Inspiro Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Tourism, the Municipality of Burgas, the Municipality of Nesebar and Dinevi Group, will be attended by medical professionals who will share their experiences in treating children with chronic lung diseases.
Head of the Inspiro Foundation Prof. Kosta Kostov told BTA: "We chose Sveti Vlas to host the forum because of the healing air that cures lung diseases and because of the former sanatorium Dr Paraskev Stoyanov where thousands of Bulgarian children with asthma and severe lung diseases used to be treated for nearly 50 years." Kostov teaches lung diseases at Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov University in Burgas and consults St. Anna University Hospital in Sofia. He added: "The mountain air that descends from the mountains near Sveti Vlas combines with the sea air and, richly ionized by the sea waves, acquires healing properties. A particular air bath gets formed in which patients with lung diseases feel comfortable."
The forum's agenda includes sanatorium treatment of chronic lung diseases through physical and rehabilitation medicine: seawater therapy, mud therapy, health tourism, swimming and problems in the respiratory system.
The symposium starts on Saturday afternoon with a round table. The first session will take place at complex Admiral on Sunday morning. The forum's agenda includes lectures on chronic respiratory and lung diseases in children, bronchial asthma in children and long COVID-19 and private healthcare tourism.
Marathon swimmer Tsanko Tsankov, who holds numerous athletic records, will talk on swimming and the respiratory system.
