site.bta2.5 Tonnes of Drugs Seized in Operation Carried Out in 49 Turkish Provinces
Turkiye has seized some 2.5 tonnes of drugs in an operation carried out in 49 out of the country's 81 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, and Izmir, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said on X.
A total of 2,428 kg of narcotic substances and nearly 889,000 narcotic pills were seized, and 336 drug traffickers and dealers were detained, the Minister added.
The operation, code-named Narkoçelik-35, was conducted under the coordination of the Counter Narcotics Department of the Directorate General of the Turkish National Police. It involved 2,081 personnel, 832 teams, 10 aircraft, and 39 specially trained search dogs.
