An exhibition entitled "Bulgaria: Innovations and Traditions" will open at the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin at 7 p.m. on September 12. The artworks featured in the exhibition are done by sculptor Todor Todorov and artist Daniela Todorova.

The exhibition aims to present fragments of the ancient spiritual heritage of Bulgaria’s lands, which has influenced European history and culture, the Institute said.

"The secrets of the ancient Thracians, the Bogomils, the achievements of Christianity, the Glagolitic script and the ancient calendar of Proto-Bulgarian are presented in an allegorical way through the mediums of bronze and paper. This is a display of contemporary art aimed at conveying profound messages," the organizers noted, adding that interactive sculptures that reflect contemporary trends will be exhibited.
