Member of European Parliament Ilhan Kyuchyuk (Renew Europe/MRF) submitted written questions to the European Commission in connection with information about massive and tendentious inspections of state bodies - the Ministry of the Interior's General Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, the Anti-Corruption Commission, the Public Financial Inspection Agency, and the National Revenue Agency - in municipalities governed by representatives of the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF), in the homes and families of its members and activists. Kyuchyuk's position says that these actions raise concerns about abuse of power and the use of state institutions as a tool for pressure in the run-up to the early parliamentary elections.

The MEP posted on social networks the questions he had addressed to the European Commission. He asks whether the EC is aware of this suddenly increased and targeted action by state authorities against representatives of one party; what measures the Commission intends to take to ensure the immediate cessation of actions that violate the fundamental principles of the rule of law and undermine the foundations of democracy; and whether the EC will ask for clarifications from Bulgaria about this case.
