site.btaBulgarian Armed Forces Contingent Certified to Participate in NATO Mission in Kosovo
A contingent of the Bulgarian Armed Forces has been certified to participate in the NATO-led peacekeeping operation in Kosovo, KFOR, Bulgaria's Defence Ministry said on Thursday.
The combat capabilities of the contingent were assessed by a committee of the Joint Force Command and the Land Forces during a company tactical exercise held at the Koren Training Area, Haskovo Region (Southern Bulgaria).
The contingent is mainly comprised of servicepersons from the 4th Artillery Regiment. It also includes servicepersons from the 101st Alpine Regiment and the 110th Logistics Regiment of the Land Forces, as well as servicepersons from the Joint Forces Command's Mobile Communication and Information System.
Major Milen Zlatev of the 4th Artillery Regiment is the commander of the national support element and assistant national commander of the contingent. Captain Kaloyan Dimitrov of the 4th Artillery Regiment is the commander of the manoeuvre company, the Ministry’s press release said.
