Sofia will host World Cups in rhythmic gymnastics during the Olympic cycle until the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, the Bulgarian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation (BRGF) announced on Wednesday.
"We are delighted to announce that Bulgaria's bid to host the Rhythmic Gymnastics World Cups for the next Olympic cycle until Los Angeles 2028 has been approved. Sofia will thus welcome the world elite of rhythmic gymnastics for the next four years. The first World Cup for 2025 will be held April 4-6. The International Gymnastics Federation highly appreciated the organizational qualities of the Bulgarian Federation and the excellent organization of all previous editions of the World Cup in Sofia," the BRGF said.
The other hosts will be Baku (Azerbaijan), Tashkent (Uzbekistan) and Milan (Italy). In addition to the traditional World Cups, there will be two Challenge Cups in Portimao (Portugal) in early May and in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) in July.
Bulgaria has also won the right to organize the third World Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships for girls, which will take place at the end of June next year.
