An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter Scale was registered in Malatya Province, Southeastern Turkiye, at 12:02 hrs local time on Monday, the Government Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) reported.
The tremor was epicentred at Akcadag and occurred at a depth of 10.31 km.
The quake caused panic among the population.
At this stage, there are no reports of casualties or damage to property.
Malatya is among the provinces that were hit hard by devastating 7.7- and 7.6-point earthquakes on February 6, 2023 which killed over 53,000 people.
Over-4-magnitude tremors have often been registered in the area of Malatya during the last year and a half.
