Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev has ordered a probe into reports and media publications about the replacement of the Executive Director of the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) at the Education and Science Ministry, Mihail Balabanov, the Government information service reported here on Friday.
The probe was assigned to inspectors from the Inspectorate General under the Council of Ministers.
Immediately after the information about Balabanov's dismissal was released, the National Youth Forum (NYF) and more than 30 organisations sent a letter to the European Commission, the Council of Ministers and the 50th National Assembly, regarding the worrying lack of transparency surrounding the processes at the HRDC, the NYF said Thursday in a position, which recalls that HRDC administers EUR 70 million per year in European programmes for education, youth and voluntary activities, which are the main resources for the work of youth organisations in the country. Community organisations, schools, sports clubs and voluntary groups also rely on these programmes.
