Bulgarian President Rumen Radev thanked his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron for France's support in extinguishing the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border. "My sincere thanks to President Emmanuel Macron for France's solidarity and timely support with aircraft to fight the devastating fires on the Bulgarian-Greek border front," Rumen Radev wrote on X.

A plane is arriving from France to help extinguish the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border, the Interior Ministry said Sunday.

Caretaker Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov told journalists that Bulgaria had activated the European Union's civil protection mechanism and wanted a plane to help extinguish the fire on the Bulgarian-Greek border.
