- The Orthodox Church marks Day of Cyril and Methodius and their five disciples: Sts Clement, Nahum, Sabas, Gorazd and Angelarius.
On this date in Bulgarian history:
- 1903: Consecration of Seven Apostles of Bulgaria Church in Sofia in converted building of the Black Mosque (built 1528).
- 1919: Bulgarian delegation including Venelin Ganev, Yanko Sakuzov and Alexander Stamboliiski arrives in Paris to sign Treaty of Neuilly, under which Bulgaria cedes territories after defeat as one of Central Powers in World War I.
- 1947: Union of the Deaf in Bulgaria established. Successor to Society for the Protection of the Deaf Mute (est. July 12, 1934), renamed Union of the Deaf Mute in 1945.
- 1995: Audit Office Act adopted.
- 2009: Boyko Borissov elected prime minister of first GERB government.
