Davis Cup player Dimitar Kuzmanov won the singles title at the Astana Challenger Capital Cup in Kazakhstan, a professional tennis tournament played on indoor hard courts with a prize fund of USD 41,000.
Kuzmanov, ranked third, defeated Saba Purtseladze (Georgia) in the final with 6:4, 6:3 in 85 minutes.
The match was interrupted due to rain at the end of the first set. The Bulgarian dominated almost entirely. He took a 5-2 lead on his way to victory in the first half. In the second set, the Kuzmanov again took a 5:2 lead, but the next two games were contested and he managed to end the match with his seventh match point.
