The Isperih History Museum has a collection of Trench Art works and souvenirs made by soldiers in the First World War, Enita Vasileva, chief curator of the modern and contemporary history department, said on Friday. The collection includes a beaded bottle, a metal jug inscribed "A memento from the garrisons..." and a soldier's mug from the year 1917.

All the items belonged to a war volunteer and will be part of an exhibition at the Ruse Regional History Museum, which will show artefacts from 35 museums in Bulgaria, representing the period of the two world wars. The items - ashtrays, vases, pencil cases and cutlery - were crafted from ammunition, ammo crates and ration bags.

The exhibition in Ruse will be open until the end of September.
