A total of 981 firefighters and 332 fire trucks have been involved in the handling of 95 accidents. The wildfires near Harmanli and Otets Paisievo in South Bulgaria have been contained, the Interior Ministry said, citing data as of 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.

A villa area near Harmanli was salvaged due to the speedy response of the firefighters. Two firefighters received medical assistance after being injured and continued their work.

The wildfire, which had broken out in the southeastern village of Voden, Yambol Region, has headed towards the village of Krainovo. People have been evacuated.

Caretaker Prime Minister Dimitar Glavchev visited Voden on Thursday evening and said that the fire had been brought under control.
