site.btaParliament Elects BSP for Bulgaria's Ivan Ivanov as Chair of Agriculture Committee, GERB-UDF's Denitsa Sacheva as Head of Labour, Social Policy Committee

Ivan Ivanov of BSP for Bulgaria and Denitsa Sacheva of GERB-UDF Wednesday were elected as chairpersons of the 50th National Assembly’s Committee on Agriculture, Food and Forestry and the Committee on Labour and Social Policy, respectively.

The decision on the composition of the Committee on Agriculture, Food and Forestry was adopted with 168 votes in favour, six against, and six abstentions.

The members of the Committee include GERB-UDF MPs Georgi Stankov, Gyunay Hyusmen, Desislava Taneva, Tsveta Karayancheva, Mariya Belova, Roumen Hristov, and Martin Harizanov, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) MPs Lyuben Ivanov, Tatyana Sultanova, and Zahari Borachev, Vazrazhdane MPs Veselin Veshev, Ivaylo Tchorbov, and Krastyo Vrachev, Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) MPs Dimitar Avramov, BSP for Bulgaria MP Krasimir Yordanov, and There Is Such a People (TISP) MP Taner Turkoglu.

The decision on the composition of the Committee on Labour and Social Policy was approved by 169 MPs, with four voting against and five abstaining.

The Committee is made up of 21 MPs: seven are from GERB-UDF, four each from CC-DB and Vazrazhdane, and two each from MRF, BSP for Bulgaria, and TISP. Georgi Georgiev of Vazrazhdane, Lyuben Ivanov of CC-DB, Petya Tsankova of BSP for Bulgaria, and Shendoan Halit of MRF have been elected as deputy chairpersons.
