Bulgarian Finance Minister Lyudmila Petkova and Bulgarian National Bank Governor Dimitar Radev Monday participated in a meeting of the Eurogroup and reported Bulgaria's progress in meeting its commitments following the accession to the Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM II), said the Finance Ministry.

Bulgaria has fulfilled nearly all further commitments and all legislative ones, the Ministry said. This country will continue to work hard on the technical preparation for entry in the eurozone. Minister Petkova said that the euro changeover bill has been submitted to Parliament and she hopes that it would be adopted shortly, the Ministry added.

The European Council said on its website that the Eurogroup meeting in Brussels discussed the functioning of ERM II with the ministers and central bank governors of Bulgaria and Denmark.
