Industrial production in Bulgaria decreased by 3.4% in May compared to April, according to first estimates from Eurostat. Industrial production in the European Union declined by 0.8% over the same period.

Industrial production in Bulgaria dropped 6.3% y-o-y in May, while in EU it fell by 2.5% y-o-y for the same period.

This means Bulgaria's industry witnessed the fourth most significant monthly downturn among EU countries and the third most substantial annual downturn among EU member states.
