site.btaBulgaria Crowned Women's U18 Volleyball European Champion
Bulgaria claimed its first ever women’s U18 volleyball European title on Saturday. The Bulgarian team, led by coach Antonina Zetova, defeated Belgium by 3:0 (25:15, 25:18, 28:26) in the final of the championship in Blaj, Romania.
Middle blocker Darina Naneva scored 14 points for Bulgaria, Vyara Parapunova – 12, Denitsa Angelova – 11, and Kalina Veneva added 9.
Tea Radovic scored 19 points for Belgium.
At the 2024 Women's U18 Volleyball European Championship, Bulgaria defeated Germany, Turkiye, Poland, Lithuania, Finland, Greece, Italy and Belgium, and suffered a single 2:3 defeat by Hungary in the final round of the group stage in a match of no real importance for the Bulgarians’ tournament progression, as they had already secured a spot in the knockout stage.
