site.btaDrawings by Children From Bosilegrad, Tsaribrod Exhibited in Bulgaria's Parliament

Drawings of children from Bosilegrad and Tsaribrod are exhibited in Parliament's building in Sofia. The Children of Bulgaria for the Future of the Planet exhibition features scenes from the ecological operations of an elephant character while it tries to protect nature.

The exhibition is part of the 5th National Children's Nominations “The Biggest Little Friend of Animals and Nature”. Exhibited are over 100 drawings by kindergarteners and elementary students from across Bulgaria and, for the first time, from Bosilegrad and Tsaribrod in Serbia.

The event is organized at the initiative of AFA Bulgaria Foundation and in partnership with the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad.

Opening the exhibition on Wednesday, National Assembly Deputy Chair Rositsa Kirova said: "Anything that has to do with children and art makes me believe that we have a future as a nation, a community and people who know how to appreciate." She wished the young artists to dream and set an example for their parents. 

The MPs in attendance expressed gratitude to the directors and teaching staff of the educational institutions for their efforts to instill values of conservation and environmental protection in their pupils. They agreed that through their works children see a better future. 

During the official opening, the MPs and the directors of the schools and kindergartens left their colourful palm prints on the Tree of Harmony, a children's drawing from the first edition of the initiative that has become its mascot. 

Representatives of all the schools present were also presented with certificates of appreciation on behalf of the organizers.
