site.btaVarna District Prosecutor Charges Staro Oryahovo Mayor For Participation in Organized Criminal Group

The Varna District Prosecutor's Office brought charges against Staro Oryahovo Mayor Petar Tinev for participation in an organized criminal group with the aim of obtaining property benefits, said the prosecution service in the seaside city on Wednesday. 

The prosecuting magistracy added that the crimes were committed in the period from the beginning of 2019 to the end of 2023 in the village of Staro Oryahovo in Dolni Chiflik Municipality. 

The 34-year-old mayor, who was arrested on Tuesday, was also charged with coercion, while two more men will also be charged for participation in the organized criminal group. 

The accused are detained for a period of up to 72 hours.
