As long as Peevski is on the political terrain, we have no chance to talk with DPS on policies. If Peevski is removed from the political terrain - then we will be able to talk, Continue the Change - Democratic Bulgaria (CC-DB) floor leader Nikolay Denkov told journalists before the start of Sunday's meeting of CC's National Council. He was referring to Movement for Rights and Freedoms Chairman Delyan Peevski, whose party has been plagued by tensions recently.
Denkov urged to wait and see who will be handed the second exploratory government-forming mandate. "Let's see when it is handed over, then we will decide," he said.
"In terms of preserving and developing the coalition, we are all unanimous, we have been saying it for the past few days," Denkov said, reiterating that the matter will also be discussed during the National Council, which is expected to decide in favour of preserving the CC-DB coalition. He was commenting the decision of the Executive Council of Democrats for a Strong Bulgaria (DSB), part of the CC-DB coalition format. Regarding DSB's proposal for a technical cabinet to be formed on the third mandate, Denkov commented that the question should be discussed carefully. This proposal has its advantages, but it also has its problems, he said.
Asked what exactly a technical cabinet meant, Denkov recalled that he was prime minister of a cabinet that had political support. "I have repeatedly said that every cabinet must have clear political support. So these are the issues that need to be discussed," he added.
