In a Facebook post on Monday, Continue the Change co-leader Kiril Petkov wrote that they will not back a government of GERB and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) which MRF leader Delyan Peevski dreams of, because the next reforms Bulgaria needs are impossible with those parties.
"Peevski's whole power comes from three places: greed and fear by the ladybugs [political appointments] in institutions; [GERB leader Boyko] Borissov has rented out his party for his own peace; the low voter turnout, otherwise his MPs [numbers] can drop by half as early as in the next elections if we increase the number of voters," Petkov wrote.
"We can and we do turn down a government with the first [cabinet-forming] mandate. That is the power of freedom," he also wrote.
Earlier on Monday, GERB-UDF's prime minister-designate Rosen Zhelyazkov accepted an exploratory mandate to form a government. He presented a proposal for a Cabinet composition and lineup with one deputy prime minister and 19 ministers.
