Caretaker Minister of e-Government Valentin Mundrov Friday said that although progress has been made, digitization and digital transformation in business, outside the ICT industry, is still low in Bulgaria. He participated in a panel on "Trends in Digitization and Cyber Security" on the third and last day of the Green Transition Forum 4.0: New global perspectives for the CEE region.

The forum in Sofia is organized by Dir.bg and 3E News, and BTA is media partner.

Bulgaria is in one of the last places in Europe in terms of implementation of customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and cloud computing, Mundrov said. It is necessary to go through the required steps as quickly as possible and try to reverse this trend, he said, expressing confidence that with joint efforts, this can be achieved.

Another challenge facing society not only in Bulgaria, but globally, is related to cyber security. Information systems have become central to daily life, leading to an increase in the number of cyber threats, which requires adaptation, coordination and innovative responses, he said. The Minister of e-Government added that the number, scale, complexity, frequency and impact of cyber threats are increasing and they pose a significant threat to the functioning of information systems. This calls for stepping up work in the cyber security sector by all countries, Valentin Mundrov said.
