site.btaUPDATED GERB Leader Borissov Says There Is Highest Level of Threat against Him
Speaking to reporters in the corridors of Parliament on Wednesday, GERB leader Boyko Borissov said that he has received an alert from one of the most influential security services in the world that there is highest level of threat against him.
Borissov voiced hope that the State Agency for National Security, the Interior Ministry and the National Service for Protection will take some measures about this. He added he has been threatened many times.
"It worried me that, yesterday, two diametrically opposed media published information that the threat comes from [Movement for Rights and Freedoms (MRF) Chairperson] Delyan Peevski. I had heard everything else about Peevski, but this was too much for me. After we parted ways in Parliament, everyone went back to his party, to the voters, and this month we have neither heard nor seen each other. GERB and MRF are completely different parties and the cliché of wrapping us in one will simply not see it," Borissov stressed, adding that his party has the most similarities with the Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria coalition and, on other topics, GERB has similarities with Vazrazhdane.
Borissov believes that Bulgaria's aid to Ukraine is the reason for the threat against him.
