The Romanian border police said it has found 21 undocumented individuals, who claim to be Syrian and Iraqi nationals, concealed in a truck attempting to enter Romania illegally at the Vidin-Calafat border crossing.

The driver, a 39-year-old Turkish national, has been barred from entering Romania for five years. He was operating a truck, registered in Romania, carrying metal sections from Turkiye to France under a Turkish customs seal. The 21 undocumented individuals boarded the truck in a parking lot in Sofia, Bulgaria, with assistance from the driver.

The Bulgarian Border Police have taken custody of all individuals involved to further investigate and implement the necessary legal actions.
