The Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) will put into circulation a St Peter and St Paul gold commemorative coin on June 24, 2024, the central bank said in a press release on Friday. 

Upon release, the coin, denominated BGN 100, will be sold at BGN 1,757. The mintage is 4,000. The coin is made of 999 fine gold, proof quality, weighs 8.64 grammes, and is 24 millimeters in diameter.

The obverse features the BNB emblem, the denomination, the inscription "Bulgarian National Bank" and the year of issue, 2024. The reverse design consists of canonical images of St Peter and St Paul holding a medallion with the image of Jesus Christ, below a two-row inscription "St Peter and St Paul".

The designers of the coin are Plamen Chernev and Preslav Chernev.

The BNB will be selling the coins at two counters at its Head Office in Sofia, 1 Knyaz Alexander I Square, and at four counters at the BNB Cash Centre in Sofia, 10 Mihail Tenev St.

Each client will be limited to purchase one coin, regardless of whether they act on their own behalf and for their own account or on behalf and for the account of another. Coins will not be sold to persons aged under 18, the central bank said.

Until the end of business on June 24, the new coin will be supplied to Investbank, First Investment Bank, Texim Bank, Tokuda Bank and Central Cooperative Bank for sale at their offices and branches.
