Speaking at the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media here on Wednesday, Maria Popova, representative of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsman) in Odesa Region, said that Bulgarians do not reside only in Bulgaria.
The forum opened earlier in the day at the Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) National Press Club in Odesa. Discussions will also take place in the cities of Bolhrad and Izmail, where there are large Bulgarian communities.
"It is my honour and pleasure to welcome you to Ukraine, to Odesa, the most beautiful city on Earth," Popova addressed the participants at the opening of the discussion. She wished them a successful forum and expressed hope that it would pass smoothly and safely.
The opening of the meeting was interrupted by power outages. Two power cuts necessitated the activation of electric generators.
BTA is organizing the 19th World Meeting of Bulgarian Media in Odesa, Bolhrad, and Izmail, Ukraine, from June 18 to June 21, 2024. The event is taking place with the support of Aurubis Bulgaria, A1 Bulgaria, Glavbolgarstroy Holding AD, Euroins Insurance Group, Postbank, SOF Connect, and the 13 Centuries of Bulgaria National Endowment Fund.
