Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov had a working meeting with Spanish Ambassador to Bulgaria Miguel Alonso Berrio here on Tuesday, the Interior Ministry reported. 

During the talks, Minister Stoyanov praised the bilateral cooperation in the field of internal affairs. He wished Ambassador Berrio a successful term of office in Bulgaria and thanked Spain for its firm and consistent support in the long process of Bulgaria's accession to Schengen. The Minister pointed out that at the moment there is a steady tendency for a decrease in migration pressure, which is the result of the actions taken by Bulgaria.

Miguel Alonso Berrio shared his appreciation for the joint work and expressed his great satisfaction that the relations between the two countries are intense, substantive and based on trust.

The two sides exchanged views on the challenges in all areas of the fight against organised crime - drugs, human trafficking, money laundering, arms trafficking, cultural and historical property. They discussed ways to expand the professional exchange of experience in areas such as reducing traffic accidents trauma, security at mass events and fighting corruption.
