site.bta4.3 Magnitude Earthquake Registered in Plovdiv Region, South Central Bulgaria
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.3 on the Richter scale was registered in Plovdiv region in South Central Bulgaria, the National Institute in Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences said on Monday. According to the Institute, the quake had its epicenter in Asenovgrad.
The earthquake was registered at 8:24 pm about 145 km south-southeast of Sofia, in the Plovdiv area, the Interior Ministry said. According to preliminary information, the quake with a depth of 5 km was felt in the towns of Asenovgrad, Sadovo, the city of Plovdiv, and in the area of the Rozhen National Astronomical Observatory.
There is no information about damage and injured people.
