Caretaker Minister of Defence Atanas Zapryanov is set to attend a NATO member states' Defence Ministers meeting scheduled for June 13-14 in Brussels, Belgium, the Ministry's press service said on Wednesday.

This forum will serve as a crucial platform for strategic deliberations ahead of the upcoming summit in Washington, USA, scheduled for July. The key discussions will focus on strengthening the Alliance's deterrence and defence capabilities and enhancing support for Ukraine.

The NATO meeting will address key issues including the implementation of the new Defence Investment Pledge, the enhancement of industrial defence capabilities, and the provision of necessary resources to the Alliance.

The Defence Ministers' meeting will include a working meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council. The agenda includes discussing long-term political and practical support to Ukraine. Participants will receive updates on the battlefield situation and the country's current and future needs. Zapryanov will also participate in a regular meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group.
