site.btaHead of EP Liasion Office in Bulgaria Stresses Importance of BTA's Initiative to "Show Pan-European Dimension" of 2024 European Elections
The Head of the European Parliament (EP) Liaison Office in Bulgaria, Teodor Stoychev, said on Monday that the European dimension in this election campaign was largely absent, overshadowed by topical issues of national concern. He was speaking at a BTA event in which the agency's special correspondents came live from all 27 EU Member States, where they covered the 2024 European Parliament elections on site in collaboration with the team of BTA staffers in the newsroom back in Sofia.
Stoychev noted that "the European elections are crucial because the landscape they shape will be with us for the next five years".
He said that "BTA’s initiative to show the pan-European dimension of these elections, how they went in other countries, and to make us feel part of the European debate that is taking place in all countries around the elections is very important". The Head of the European Parliament Liaison Office in Sofia noted that they have had great cooperation with BTA for many years and was confident that it will continue in the future. "The most important thing is to provide the Bulgarian public with accurate and correct information about what is happening in the EU and in the EP in particular," Stoychev added.
