site.btaMuzeiko Children's Science Center Hosts Presentation on Antarctica by National Expedition Members
The Muzeuko Children's Science Center hosted a presentation on Antarctica here on Saturday, the Bulgarian Antarctic Institute said. The head of the Institute, Prof Christo Pimpirev, Assoc Prof Borislav Aleksandrov from the University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, and Lyubov Kostova from the Beautiful Science Foundation told children curious stories about the Icy Continent.
In his presentation on Antarctica, Prof Pimpirev paid special attention to the inhabitants of Livingston Island and the friendly coexistence with the Bulgarian polar explorers.
Kostova, a participant in this year's expedition to Antarctica, talked about the importance of working with a good team. She also focused on the interesting professions of Antarctic people and the magic of the paper Antarctic letter.
Assoc Prof Aleksandrov, participant in six expeditions to Antarctica, certified survival instructor and author of a book on survival basics, talked about the basic important skills a polar explorer must have to survive on the remote continent. He introduced young travelers to some personal safety rules.
The speakers wished the children to have big dreams and follow them without ever giving up.
The moderator of the meeting, Assoc Prof Vladimir Bozhilov, talked about the new book by Prof Pimpirev and Iglika Trifonova, The Antarctic Hitchhiker.
The event at Muzeiko was part of the Polar Explorer Programme.
