site.btaDeputy Foreign Minister Kondov Confers with UAE Ambassador

Deputy Foreign Minister Ivan Kondov met United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador Abdulrahman Al Jaber on Thursday, the Foreign Ministry said.

During the meeting, the two diplomats highlighted the good bilateral cooperation in recent years and expressed their desire to build on the strategic nature of the relations between the two friendly countries. They discussed prospects for advancing bilateral dialogue in areas of mutual interest such as economy, investment, security and defence.

Ambassador Al Jaber expressed appreciation for the steps taken and the letter sent by Economy Minister Petko Nikolov to the Executive Vice-President of the European Commission and Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis, with which the Bulgarian side supported the progress in the trade and economic relations between the EU and the UAE.

For his part, Deputy Minister Ivan Kondov thanked for the assistance provided by the UAE authorities in connection with the forthcoming early parliamentary elections and elections of members of the European Parliament on the territory of the UAE.
