The 62nd National Archaeological Conference started here on Tuesday. More than 100 archaeologists from across the country and guests from Romania are participating in the event.

The forum was opened by the Director of the Regional Museum of History in Silistra Nikolay Todorov. He announced to the attendees that the work of his colleagues from museums and institutes over the past year will become visible during the conference.

"Caring for the past is not a disposable political slogan, but a calling and dedication," Todorov said.

The event was organised jointly with the National Archaeological Institute with Museum at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Over the course of three days, 20 papers will be presented, presenting the most important archaeological research in recent years.
