site.btaWomen in Technologies Course Ends with 100 Graduates
Some 100 women received certificates for successfully completing a course entitled Women in Technologies jointly organized by the University of Telecommunications and Post (UTP), the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and Huawei Technologies Bulgaria, the UTP reported on Friday. The goal of the project is to enable unemployed women or those seeking retraining to attend free courses to acquire basic digital skills.
Caretaker Minister of Labour and Social Policy Ivaylo Ivanov who attended addressed the graduates saying that they are now one step closer to a more successful professional career. He added that up to 6,000 women are expected to be trained under the programme by the end of 2024.
Courses last 90 days. The training covers the Microsoft Office Suite, using the internet, basic cybersecurity skills, UTP Rector Prof. Miglena Temelkova told BTA. She said: "Ladies come in analogue and come out digital," and added that another four or five courses will be organized by the end of the year.
