site.btaPanorama Showcases African, Caribbean Cinema
A second panorama of African-Caribbean cinema will take place between May 31 and June 1 at the Sofia University, the National Academy of Theatre and Film Arts said. It is among organizers together with the African and Indo-Pacific Studies Department and the African-Caribbean Cultural Centre with the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology at the Sofia University.
The festival is part of the cultural programme, dedicated to Africa Day observances. Traditionally, it is celebrated on May 25 throughout the world to showcase the African Union and its role for the consolidation of African nations, cultural diversity and the richness of the continent.
Within the framework of the event a panorama of African-Caribbean cinema will be presented along with master classes with director and screenwriter Alaa Eddine Aljem from Morocco and film director George Bosompim from Ghana.
Elena Panayotova, a doctor in theatre studies and theatre art, will share her experience with the performative arts and working with vulnerable children and youths from Africa and Bulgaria.
