On the second day of his official visit to Hungary, President Rumen Radev visited the Mathias Corvinus Collegium Educational and Research Centre in Budapest and met with representatives of its management.
The head of State was welcomed by the director of the centre, Dr. Zoltan Szalai, who presented the history, mission, projects, research programme and international activities of the institution. Founded in 1996, the Mathias Corvinus Collegium has established itself as a prestigious educational institution, which today operates in 27 locations and has 7,600 students.
"Education is a fundamental factor for the well-being of society and must be a priority for every country to develop successfully," President Rumen Radev said during the meeting. In his words, only by knowing their history, culture and traditions can young people develop as worthy citizens of their country and as Europeans. It is important for education to promote and develop critical thinking and to develop skills and virtues that will help young people cope with the challenges around them, the President added.
