The best Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov qualified for the second round of the French Open. The No 10 seed Dimitrov overcame the first round of the second Grand Slam tournament of the year after a three-set success over American Aleksandar Kovacevic with 6:4, 6:3, 6:4. The match, which was the first between the two players, lasted an hour and 58 minutes.

Dimitrov and Kovacevic each served 8 aces in the match, while the Bulgarian made 35 winning shots and only two double faults.

The next opponent of Grigor Dimitrov, participating for the 14th consecutive year in the main draw, will be the winner of the match between Fabian Marozsan (Hungary) and Kazakhstan’s qualifier Mikhail Kukushkin, which is scheduled later on Sunday.

The Bulgarian's best ranking at Roland Garros is fourth round in 2020 and 2023.
