A photographic display "20 years Bulgaria in NATO", dedicated to the anniversary of the country's accession to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, will be opened by caretaker Defence Minister Atanas Zapryanov on Tuesday on the bridge near the NDK Convention Centre, the Defence Ministry said). The event will be attended by the Chief of Defence Admiral Emil Eftimov, senior officers of the Bulgarian Army, representatives of the state and local authorities.

The exhibition is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's accession to NATO and includes photographs taken by servicemen and civilian employees of the Ministry. The images illustrate Bulgaria's participation in missions, operations and exercises of the Alliance and the Bulgarian contribution to the collective defence over the past two decades.

The event is part of a national Program with initiatives to mark the 20th anniversary of Bulgaria's membership in NATO and the 75th anniversary of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. The exhibition will be on until June 4.

On March 29, 2004, Bulgaria acceded the North Atlantic Treaty in Washington together with Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
