Bulgarian Contingent to Join NATO Mission in Kosovo

A Bulgarian contingent of more than 100 servicemen will carry out tasks in support of the efforts to restore and maintain security in Kosovo as part of the NATO-led international peacekeeping force in Kosovo (KFOR), the Defence Ministry said in a press release on Monday.

Major Krasimir Damyanov is Deputy Commander of the 2nd Multinational Battalion of the operational reserve of KFOR, and Captain Ferdo Ferdinandov is Company Commander.

A deployment ceremony will be held in Blagoevgrad on May 21. Deputy Defence Minister Radostin Iliev and Chief of Defence, Admiral Emil Eftimov, will attend the event.
